Was just in Appleton last weekend visiting a friend. Had I known this was here I may have returned riding two vans home like skiis.

It looks super nice. Almost tempted to go check it out, but I’d rather a land yacht right now.

That engine + trans would probably be worth it just for the parts.

I had a first-gen Voyager, an ‘87, I think, that had the 2.2L (I think) L4 and a 5-speed manual. Pretty decent van, but the next gen, with sliders on each side, was a vast improvement, though it would have benefited from another 30 or 40 horsepower.

2-door, too much, too greige.

What is wrong with you?!?!

Dual sliders didn’t start til the 3rd gen (96-00). I will say that’s one thing the V6 models have on the 4 cyls, that extra low end torque and a few extra HP really help get them moving.

Mine was a ‘96, so 3rd gen then. Mitsubishi engine, I’m thinking... Smooth and sophisticated, but underpowered for its weight and thankfully, short wheelbase. The Grand Voyager was probably 300 pounds heaver and you could really feel it in body sway, more sluggish, et cetera.

IIRC, it’s about 500 lbs extra between the lwb and swb. The 3.0/3-speed was a decent combo in the 2nd gens, but sometimes is slightly sluggish, in the heavier 3rd gens, it feels underpowered. The 3.3/3.8 are the best engines in them IMO, not a big bump in HP, but a lot more torque, which really takes care of the sluggish feeling.
I go for the 2nd gen swbs. They weigh in around 3200 lbs, the engines have almost identical output to the 3rd gens, the chassis has a tighter feel to it. They really feel like a tighter/more-refined 1st gen with gobs more power. The 3rd gens really lost that driving experience, becoming soft feeling.

But the two doors on that car are like the size of 4 doors on other cars. And it still has a big back seat!
You could also get this for the velour fix you NEED:
